Arsenal close to completing exciting double signing & Mohamed Elneny to follow

Arsenal are reportedly close to signing Nigerian wonderkids Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze.

The Gunners are in advanced talks with two key members of the Nigeria side which won last year’s U17 World Cup, and are hopeful of bringing them in before the close of the window, according to ESPN.

ESPN adds that Bayern Munich and Manchester City had also been tracking the pair, who each scored three goals and supplied three assists for the Golden Eagles as they triumphed at the Chile tournament.

But AfricanFootball.com, cited in the Metro, claim that Nwakali and Chukwueze are currently having their visas processed so that they can travel to London and sign with Arsenal this month.

Nwakali, 17, and Chukwueze, 16, are considered two of the brightest prospects coming out of African football and the Gunners should be excited about snaring them ahead of couple of European giants.

Arsene Wenger could be in for a busy January. He has been pursuing Basel’s Egyptian defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny and is optimistic of sealing that deal this week – Sky Sports reports.

Elneny, 23, would help cover for the loss of the injured Francis Coquelin, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere as Arsenal, top of the Premier League table, fight for trophies on three fronts.
