Arsenal set to pip Man City to Anglo-Nigerian wonderkid

Arsenal are on the brink of beating both Chelsea and Manchester City to the signing of Charlton Athletic starlet Ademola Lookman.

According to The Sun [via the Express], the wonderkid forward could be on the move shortly, with the Gunners having agreed a £2 million deal with London neighbours Charlton for the signing of the addition.

Only last month, as noted by the tabloid, Charlton’s interim coach Karel Fraeye insisted that the forward would be sticking around at The Valley, but money appears to have won the day, with the forward—who has scored three goals since November—on the brink of a high-profile exit.

The Express note that City were also keen on the forward, but are on the brink of missing out on his signing, while the Daily Star reported in December that Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur were also interested in the forward.

Indeed, The Sun even reported that the Pensioners were on the brink of clinching a deal for the hitman, who was born in London and is of Nigerian heritage.
