Rio Ferdinand could not miss the opportunity to take a cheeky dig at Liverpool fans.
The former Manchester United defender is supposed to be on Merseyside as an impartial pundit ahead of Liverpool’s huge Premier League clash with table-topping Arsenal at Anfield this evening.
But this video uploaded to his official Instagram account shows him reminding Reds supporters how much pain he caused them during his decorated playing days at Old Trafford.
Ferdinand won six Premier League titles during a decade with United, all while their fierce rivals were trying and failing to end their long wait without a coveted domestic championship.
And the ex-England captain should be able to continue gloating for a few years yet, because Liverpool look no closer to ending their 26-year drought. They could be 11th in the table by 10.00pm tonight.
