Man United to anger Brighton by recalling young striker James Wilson

Championship side Brighton and Hove Albion are believed to be angry with Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal after he revealed that he could recall young striker James Wilson from his loan spell on the south coast, The Independent reports.

The Red Devils are currently in the midst of a striker crisis, which has been compounded by the news that Wayne Rooney will spend the next two months on the sidelines thanks to a knee injury, and believe that Wilson could be the short term answer to their problems.

However, the report also states that Brighton chiefs aren’t best pleased with the effect the news could have on the mentality of their player.

It is believed that the two clubs agreed a recall option in private, but van Gaal broke that pact when he said: “At this point, I can call James Wilson back, but at this point I have possibilities with Will Keane and Anthony Martial. Also there is Memphis Depay [who can play up front].”
