Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo breaks another impressive record this weekend

Typically, ever-present players—i.e. those who feature for every minute of every match of a campaign—are defensive operators, who typically run less and tire slower than their offensive counterparts.

However, as reported by AS on Sunday, Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has achieved the remarkable feat of breaking the record for being the last man standing in La Liga this season…as far as unbroken minutes of action are concerned.

By the end of this weekend, Ronaldo—who featured for the full 90 minutes against Getafe on Saturday—will be the only player in the current La Liga season to have featured for every single minute.

It’s a remarkable feat for one of the division’s most focused-upon forwards.

Until this weekend, Malaga’s Venezuelan international Roberto Rosales was neck and neck with CR7, but the right-back will be suspended for Sunday’s match against Athletic Bilbao after picking up a suspension.

With the full-back dropping out at 32 games, Ronaldo—who has scored 31 goals so far this season—featured in his 33rd outing against Getafe on Saturday, finding the net in a 5-1 away victory.
