Ever since getting a clean bill of health, Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has been showing the football world exactly why teams were so eager to rush him back from whatever injury du jour he had to deal with. Against AFC Bournemouth, he showed that remarkable skill once again in the span of a few minutes.

With just moments  left to go in the first half, Jordon Ibe was given a chance on a free kick, which he launched into the line and into a leap from Daniel Sturridge, who promptly put the ball away in the left corner to give Liverpool a 2-0 lead over the over-matched Cherries.

The goal made today’s game for Sturridge his first of the season with both a goal and an assist. His only other assist of the season came in the 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month.

In addition, the score was also the fifth consecutive Premier League appearance for Sturridge in which he contributed a goal.
