While French winger Hatem Ben Arfa has enjoyed somewhat limited Premier League success in the past with Newcastle United and Hull City, he has been phenomenal for Nice this season. In 29 Ligue 1 appearances Ben Arfa has 16 goals – second in France’s top league behind only Zlatan and Alexandre Lacazette. Jurgen Klopp has noticed Ben Arfa’s improvement and appears to want him at Merseyside.

According to the Metro, Liverpool have made an offer to Nice for the star winger and are eager to get him.

Ben Arfa played four seasons at Newcastle from 2010 to 2014, scoring 13 goals in 76 Premier League appearances. The following season he was loaned out to Hull City but only made eight appearances before being released from his contract by Newcastle.

He signed with Nice just before the start of the 2015-16 season and immediately established himself as one of the club’s most dangerous scorers, and has the team in fourth place on the Ligue 1 table as of writing.

The 27-year-old winger has been capped 15 times for France since 2007, scoring two goals.
