Manchester United transfer news: World-class Bundesliga duo linked with Old Trafford switch

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is keen to continue to strengthen his squad ahead of next season as more new arrivals are expected in the coming weeks.

Here are the latest transfer musings involving the Premier League giants…

United eyeing move for Wolfsburg star

Julian Draxler is currently featuring at Euro 2016, but that hasn’t stopped speculation about his club future with United said to be keen on signing him.

With six goals and five assists in 24 league appearances last season, the 22-year-old could be an important addition to Mourinho’s squad.

In turn, that could spell the end for Memphis Depay at Old Trafford, with the Dutchman under pressure to prove his worth to the new United boss.

Chelsea in pole position to sign United target

Reports in Spain have suggested that Chelsea have now moved into a strong position to sign Valencia ace Andre Gomes.

Having made a formal bid of £32m, which has been rejected, the Premier League side have made the first move and left United, Barcelona and Juventus behind in the race to sign the Portuguese star.

Ibrahimovic in big hint over future

As widely reported on Thursday, Ibrahimovic has now ended his partnership with Nike and was spotted training in Adidas boots in with Sweden this week.

His switch to United’s main sponsor would certainly make things smoother if he is to arrive in Manchester, but it’s worth noting that both Bayern Munich and AC Milan are also sponsored by Adidas with both clubs linked with making an offer for the 34-year-old too.

Mkhitaryan wants United move

Arsenal were said to be keen on signing the Dortmund playmaker this summer, but it appears as though Arsene Wenger will miss out to Mourinho.

Mino Raiola, the Armenian’s agent, has revealed that he wants a move to United: “He wants to go to Manchester United and we are still trying to resolve the situation,” he told The Times.
