Could Phil Jones be Old Trafford’s version of John Terry?

Few players delivered as much consistent excellence to Jose Mourinho during his time at Chelsea as John Terry. But now that the Special One is the main man for Manchester United, it appears that 24-year-old Phil Jones will be called upon to to do his best Terry impression.

According to the Metro via the Daily Mirror, Mourinho feels strongly that Jones can be the type of exceptional player John Terry was during his two stints at Stamford Bridge with the Blues’ captain.

Per the source, Mourinho is working with Jones to assure the 24-year-old England defender that his spot in the squad is secure.

Jones missed the majority of an injury-ravaged 2015-16 season, making just seven starts and 13 total appearances.

Despite Mourinho’s confidence in Jones, it did not stop him from paying Villarreal a mint to land Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly.
