Chelsea linked with £100m move for Messi

Chelsea have been linked with a £100 million move for Barcelona star player Lionel Messi according to the Sun.

The report claims that Chelsea are plotting a £100 million transfer bid and that Messi’s father – who is also Messi’s agent – is reported to have met with Blues owner Roman Abramovich last week on his personal yacht, the Eclipse.

The Barcelona superstar was recently been given a 21-month prison term and his father were found guilty of three counts of tax fraud, concealing £3.5m between 2007 and 2009.

Messi is however, not likely to spend time in jail as prison terms of less than two years in Spain can be served under probation.

Goal meanwhile claim that Chelsea would have to pay more than £600,000 a week to secure a deal for the five-time Balon d’Or winner.

 

The report also claims Manchester City are also reported to be interested in Messi and are prepared to offer £800,000 a week for the Argentinian intonational.
