Arsenal’s star playmaker Jack Wilshere has unfortunately suffered an injury during pre-season training for Arsenal according to The Sun.

However, the report states that the England international is expected to be out for just a week with a slight patella problem.

Wilshere suffered an injury plagued season last term and played just 141 minutes of Premier League football before being selected for Roy Hodgson’s doomed Euro 2016 campaign.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has however stated that Wilshere should be fit to play in the pre-season friendly with Viking FK in Norway on Friday.

“Jack has a slight problem with his knee. We think it should not be very long. He should come back quickly, maybe next week,” Wenger was quoted as saying by the Sun.

“It’s a slight patella problem but I think he should be with us on tour on Thursday.”

Arsenal fans will however be wary seeing that Wilshere has not played more than 30 league games in a season since the 2010-11 campaign. The 24-year-old has missed a 154 matches for the club since.

Wilshere provided one assist and scored on goal in six appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last season.
