Arsenal star will join a rival Premier League side after just 159 appearances in eight years

Arsenal star Jack Wilshere will join either Bournemouth or Crystal Palace on loan according to Sky Sports in pursuit of regular playing time this season.

Per the source, Wilshere and his representatives have met with Palace manager Alan Pardew as well as Bournemouth  head coach Eddie Howe over a one-year loan deal.

The England international has slipped down the pecking order at Arsenal behind summer signing Granit Xhaka, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, Mohamed Elneny and Aaron Ramsey. Wilshere would have a fight on his hands to lock down a regular starting spot in the Gunners team this season.

It is understood Wilshere and his representatives met Palace boss Alan Pardew on Tuesday afternoon and Cherries manager Eddie Howe in the evening.

Wilshere has been blighted by injuries during his career, which have restricted him to just 159 appearances in eight years for the North London based outfit.

Last year, he missed most of the Gunners campaign with injury and made just three appearances but was still called up for the Euro 2016 squad by former manager Roy Hodgson.

Wilshere’s best year fitness wise was 2010/11 when he made 35 appearances in the Premier League, but since then, he hasn’t managed to reach the 30-game mark once.
