Bastian Schweinsteiger was brought back from the wilderness after Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho decided to bring the experienced midfielder back to the first-team for training after being demoted to the reserve side since the summer.
United captain Wayne Rooney was on hand to welcome the former Bayern Munich legend to the fold and shared a picture on his Instagram account alongside Schweinsteiger with an arm round his shoulder.
Mourinho has yet to reveal whether he will make use of the experienced midfielder and he will not be able to feature against Fenerbahce in the Europa League due to not being included in the squad for the competition.
