Arsenal legend Alan Smith turned 54 today and the club wished him a happy birthday via the official club twitter account.
The Gunners shared a picture of Smith alongside a birthday message and referred to him as his nickname ‘Smudger’.
Smudger was not a moniker coined for footballing reasons, it is a nickname for the name Smith.

The former Arsenal man won two league titles, the FA Cup and the UEFA Cup Winners Cup during his time at the North London based outfit.
