Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal has fuelled speculation that he could join Chelsea in January by liking a story covering the rumour on Instagram.
As per The Sun last week, the Chilean international was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth £34m, although it was added that Bayern could look for something closer to £40m.
With Antonio Conte keen to bolster his squad where possible in January to sustain their Premier League title push, a reunion with his former Juventus midfield general would make sense as the pair enjoyed great success together in Turin.
For many Chelsea fans though, it seemed like an unrealistic possibility as the 29-year-old is a pivotal part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans in Bavaria, and they will not be keen to let him go any time soon.
Further, with the potential of winning silverware both in Germany and in Europe this season, there are doubts over Vidal’s desire to leave and move to England.
Those doubts have seemingly been dismissed now though as Chelsea supporters have spotted something interesting on Instagram. The Chilean midfielder has liked a story linking him with a move to west London, and it sparked all sorts of crazy responses with many now believing he’ll be on the move this month.
Responses included: “Look! Vidal liked this photo this could mean that he is on the way to bleed blue!” and “Vidal liked the post is it really happening???”
It remains to be seen whether or not there will be movement in January to secure the deal, but with Conte keen to add quality and depth to his squad ahead of their likely return to the Champions League next season, the recruitment drive to see them over the line in the Premier League title race starts now.
