Claudio Ranieri sacked: Leicester give title-winning manager the boot after being drawn into relegation battle

Leicester City have sacked title-winning manager Claudio Ranieri after a string of disappointing results, according to the Daily Mail.

Ranieri wrote his name into Leicester and English football folklore after defying the odds to lift the Premier League title with the Foxes last campaign.

Just seven months later, it appears as though the fairytale has come to a bitter end. The Daily Mail believe that Ranieri has been given the boot, with the champions finding themselves in genuine danger of being relegated.

Despite his stewardship giving Leicester the best season in the club’s history, Ranieri appears to have lost the trust of the club’s hierarchy and has subsequently his time at the club has come to an abrupt end.

It is a brutal reminder of the nature of modern football. Ranieri will go down in history for what he achieved last campaign, but, according to the Mail, his relationship with Leicester has ended in tears.
