(Photo) Barcelona ace makes it clear €222m superstar is going nowhere

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has seemingly closed the door on the possibility of Neymar leaving the club this summer with one tweet.

The Brazilian international has been heavily linked with an exit in recent weeks, with BBC Sport noting that Paris Saint-Germain had reportedly triggered the €222m release clause in his contract.

Fears continued to grow that the 25-year-old was set to leave the Nou Camp despite the club insisting he was going nowhere, but Pique has seemingly given the biggest indication yet where Neymar’s future lies.

The post seen above quickly went viral with other Barcelona players liking the tweet and commenting as it looks as though the world-class forward will be staying with the Catalan giants beyond this summer.

It remains to be seen how that affects PSG’s transfer work, while Barca will continue with their plans to strengthen Ernesto Valverde’s squad where possible.

Nevertheless, it will be a huge relief to all concerned that Neymar is staying put, at least it would seem that way based on this post, and it seems as though Pique has made sure of it in a rather menacing but of course light-hearted tweet.

The Brazilian international provided a reminder of what he offers to Barca with a star performance against Juventus at the weekend, and so the feared attacking trident along with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi will continue to torment La Liga defences it seems.
