“He is a very important player for us” – Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane waxes lyrical about 70-goal Los Blancos star

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has been all praise for Wales international Gareth Bale, with the former Madrid player highlighting how important the winger is to his side.

This is according to ESPN, who report that the Los Blancos manager failed to state when the player will have returned from injury and be available for first team selection.

Speaking about Bale, Zidane stated that “he is a very important player for us. He knows that, we know that, everyone does. He is training without a problem, but I don’t know when he will play. We want him back 100 percent, he will not need so much time as there was not a big gap between the two injuries this time.”

Zidane failed to say when Bale will be back for Madrid

Since his arrival in Spain from north London side Tottenham in the summer of 2013, Bale has had a tops-turvy career with the Spanish giants.

In 159 appearances for the club, the Welsh international has managed to clock up an impressive 70 goals and 56 assists.

Since his arrival in the Spanish capital, Bale had helped Madrid win a whole host of silverware. During his time with Zidane’s side, Bale has helped the club win one La Liga title, three Champions League titles, one Copa Del Rey, three European Super Cups, one Spanish Super Cup and three Club World Cups.

One of the main areas which Real Madrid fans have been disappointed in regarding Bale is his injury proneness.

In the four years he spent with the club, Bale has missed a total of 60 games through injury, something that has seen some Los Blancos fans grow tired of the 28-year-old.
