Man City boss Pep Guardiola will not face any action from the FA over the incident he was involved in with Southampton ace Nathan Redmond.
After his side’s 2-1 win over the Saints in the Premier League last Wednesday night, the Spanish tactician made his way onto the pitch and was seen aggressively talking to Redmond.
As per Sky Sports, the player himself has since calmed down the controversy and insisted Guardiola was actually complimenting him and discussing his performance, while it’s noted that the FA have now reached a decision and will not take any disciplinary action.
It’s presumed that on the basis of Redmond’s comments, it was enough to rule out the need for a ban or fine, and judging from the reaction below, it’s got Man Utd supporters riled up.
In a week in which they’ve seen Paul Pogba suspended for the Manchester derby on Sunday, along with Jose Mourinho facing FA action in the past for much less, they’re evidently far from impressed with the decision and believe there is a different criteria for other managers.
Albeit it was a heated post-match discussion between Guardiola and Redmond, it was after the game and the Southampton man doesn’t appear to have a problem with it. So it could be argued that the City boss has done nothing wrong although it still doesn’t look great in replays without knowing the context of the rant. However, don’t say that too loudly with the supporters below…
Media already forgotten Pep Guardiola about 5 meters on the pitch celebrating, going mental. Then at the end of the game having a go at Redmond. Mourinho one foot on the pitch and gets banned. Unbelievable tbh #MUFC

So Pep Guardiola will face no action for his screaming and ranting in Nathan Redmond’s face. I mean of course not. If his name was Jose Mourinho however it would be an entirely different story

‘Pep guardiola faces no action following pitch action’ if that was Jose, instant ban.

Absolutely ridiculous that guardiola got away with that, any other manager would get a ban straight away

Guardiola gets away with everything. Mourinho gets banned for breathing too much. Pogba wins ball and gets a red card
