Barcelona star Lionel Messi could be doing Manchester United a big favour in their transfer pursuit of Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, according to reports.
The Red Devils have been recently linked with a £140million move for Dybala, who has shone in Serie A in recent times to attract big interest from elsewhere.
Real Madrid have also been among Dybala’s many admirers, but Messi may now intervene and dissuade him from joining one of Barca’s main rivals, according to Don Balon.
Messi knows Dybala well from international duty with Argentina and could have a big say on the 24-year-old’s future if he does succeed in pushing him away from Real.
Don Balon’s report suggests Messi has already been exchanging messages with Dybala over snubbing a move to the Bernabeu, and it looks like it’s working.
PSG recently ruled out a move for Dybala, meaning United may now be alone in tracking the Juve attacker.
If they do succeed in bringing him to Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho will certainly owe a debt of thanks to Messi for his role in the transfer!
