Manchester United have reportedly made a £79million bid for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo as this particular saga may not be over just yet.

The Real Madrid superstar has been strongly linked with Juventus by a variety of sources, with Mediaset today reporting that things are ticking along nicely and that he’s set to take the number 7 shirt off Juan Cuadrado.

However, United may have reason to believe they can still hijack the deal as Diario Gol report they’ve made Real Madrid a rival offer, though it’s not currently enough to convince them to sell for that price.

The complication arises, however, as another Diario Gol report explains how Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants a player in exchange for Ronaldo.

That report lists one of Juve duo Miralem Pjanic or Paulo Dybala has his priorities, with the latter an ideal like-for-like replacement for the Portugal international up front.

Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus transfer could still be in some doubt

These are two big names for the Turin giants, however, so this won’t be easy for Los Blancos to pull off, though Perez is claimed by Diario Gol to be making this a deal breaker.

It remains to be seen if United can now take advantage of this situation and come up with an improved offer more to Real’s liking.

Red Devils fans would no doubt love to see Ronaldo back at Old Trafford, and Diario Gol claim he’d be open to a return as well.
