Julen Lopetegui has demanded that Real Madrid make a summer move for Valencia and Spain star Rodrigo, a player who is valued at around €40M.

This is according to Don Balon, who are stating that Valencia view the player as being someone who is indispensable to the club, and that if the player himself wants to depart the Mestalla, the club won’t be able to do anything about him leaving.

The news outlet are also stating that the Spaniard is wanted to be brought in to replace Karim Benzema, whose hours remaining at the Santiago Bernabeu are said to be numbered.

Rodrigo will be allowed to move to Real should the player himself wish to secure a move

Lopetegui worked over Rodrigo during the duo’s time together with the Spanish national side, and it looks as if the new Los Blancos boss wants a reunion with the forward at Real Madrid this summer.

The Spaniard has been impressive for Los Che since his arrival, with the player managing to bag a total of 16 goals and seven assists in 37 league appearances this past season, something that would’ve surely caught the attention of some of Europe’s top sides.

The player is capable of playing as an out-and-out striker or out wide, something that will surely come in handy considering Cristiano Ronaldo has just departed the Spanish giants to join Juventus.

Despite losing Ronaldo, Real’s squad will be rejuvenated with a new spark of quality should they manage to bring in Rodrigo from Valencia this summer and full-fill Lopetegui’s wishes.
