Pep Guardiola wants Man City to make a move for Juventus and Bosnia midfielder Miralem Pjanic this summer, a player Lionel Messi is desperate to see move to the Camp Nou.
This is according to Don Balon, who are stating that the Spaniard wants to improve on his squad following their rampant Premier League title win last season, and that he wants to do this by adding Pjanic to this already bumper squad.
The news outlet are also noting that the move Guardiola wants City to make a €50M swoop for the star, and that the club will have to bid more than that to pry him away from the Italian giants.
The same report also states that Messi has requested the club sign Pjanic on more than one occasion, so it seems like the Bosnian is definitely in demand!
Man City absolutely ripped the Premier League apart last season, with Guardiola’s men breaking a whole host of records on their way to claiming the club’s third league title.
When you combine this with Guardiola’s want to see Pjanic join him in Manchester, it doesn’t make good reading for City’s rivals and their fans!
The Bosnian has been fantastic since moving to Turin from fellow Italian side Roma in the summer of 2016.
The midfielder’s displays in the centre of the park for the Old Lady helped the club win two Serie A titles and reach a Champions League final since his arrival.
If City do listen to Guardiola, it’ll be interesting to see if Barca step in and challenge the club for one of Serie A’s most talented and exciting midfielders. Watch this space.
