Arsenal left-back Nacho Monreal is surprisingly not in the plans of new manager Unai Emery and the club will listen to transfer offers for him, according to reports.
The Spaniard shone for the Gunners as one of their most reliable performers last season, putting in assured displays whether playing centre-back or as a left wing-back.
However, it is claimed that Emery would be willing to make Monreal available for transfer this summer and possibly sign a new left-back to replace him as he’s linked with Real Sociedad, according to Goal.
Arsenal do have Sead Kolasinac as a strong option at left-back, but one imagines many Gooners would be disappointed to see a real cult hero in Monreal leave the Emirates Stadium.
A no-thrills, but tireless performer, Monreal has been at the club since 2014 and has something of a knack for scoring important goals.
It is unclear why Emery does not seem to particularly rate him, or which left-back he’d specifically have in mind to replace him if he were to enter the transfer market for one.
