Key Barcelona fixtures 2018/19: Difficult runs in October and February could define Blaugrana’s campaign

Barcelona’s fixtures for the 2018/19 league campaign have been revealed, with two months sticking out in particular for Blaugrana fans as they hope to see their side retain their La Liga title.

The Catalan giants, who beat Atletico and Real Madrid to the league title last season, are set to star this year’s league campaign with a game at home to Alaves, with a trip to minnows Eibar set to wrap up the season.

The two most important and telling months of the Blaugrana’s season look to be in both October and February.

In October, Ernesto Valverde’s side are set to take on Valencia away, Sevilla at home and Real Madrid all in consecutive games.

And in February, they are set to play against giants Valencia, Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla as three of their four fixtures that month.

Should Barcelona come out with wins in the majority, if not all, of these fixtures, it would put the club in fine stead to beat rivals Real and Atleti to the league title once again, providing they can overcome the smaller sides in between.

Barcelona were absolutely terrific under Valverde last season, with the club only losing once on their way to securing their seventh league title in the last 10 years.

And Blaugrana supporters everywhere will be hoping the club can produce a similar record like that this year to win the club yet another La Liga crown.

The official La Liga fixtures list can be seen on AS’s website, with it being available for download there.
