With Andres Iniesta now no longer at the Camp Nou, the club are surely going to have to try and find a replacement for the Spaniard this summer.

And it looks like, although he may not be an exact replacement, that the club may have their man in Dani Parejo.

Don Balon are stating that Lionel Messi has given the club the green light to make their move for the former Real Madrid star this summer, and that the club are planning to include Andre Gomes in a deal for the midfielder.

The report also notes that boss Ernesto Valverde’s preferred signing to bolster his midfield options this season is Parejo, and that Valencia have a €50M asking price for the Spanish international.

Over the past few seasons, Parejo’s consistent performances for Los Che have managed to see the player establish himself as one of the most competent central midfielders in La Liga.

The 29-year-old has developed somewhat of an eye for goal these past few years, with Parejo managing to bag an impressive 36 goals in all competitions since the start of the 2014/15 season.

His best goalscoring season at the Mestalla came in the 2014/15 campaign, as Parejo saw himself score a total of 11 goals in the league, with the Spaniard also picking up eight assists in that time as well.

Parejo would be a great signing for Barcelona, especially if they can manage to offload Andre Gomes in the process of bringing him to the Camp Nou.
