England fans could be about to see football come home, however not in the way that most expected.

The Daily Mirror have reported very recently that the FA are eyeing up a bid to host the World Cup in England, something that, should it be successful, would see football return home for the first time since Euro 1996.

The report also states that the FA have decided to potential make their move to host football’s biggest competition following the Three Lions’ performance at the competition this summer and the positivity it gave the country.

This will surely be news that brings a smile to all England fans’ faces, as Three Lions fans may finally be able to see their country host a World Cup, something that only really comes around once in a lifetime.

England could be set to launch a bid to host the World Cup in 2030

England haven’t hosted the tournament since all the way back in 1996, which is coincidentally the last time the Three Lions won the competition.

The FA, should they launch a bid, will surely be confident about bringing football home in 12 years time, as the country has a whole number of stadiums to host the World Cup, and the infrastructure and funding to go with it.

Stadiums such as Old Trafford, the Emirates, the Etihad and Anfield, and of course Wembley, are state of the art arenas that will surely be able to host World Cup football.

Only time will tell now if the FA end up making a bid to bring football home, and give England fans a reason to look forward to international football long into the future.
