Julen Lopetegui asks Real Madrid to make move for €100M-rated star as Gareth Bale demands club bolster key area

Julen Lopetegui has asked Real Madrid to launch a transfer swoop for Valencia and Spain forward Rodrigo, with Gareth Bale also demanding that the club bolster their striker options this summer.

This is according to Don Balon, who are noting that the Welshman is adamant that the club need to improve their striking options for the season ahead, and that he likes the idea of seeing the Spanish giants sign Rodrigo.

Diario Gol have reported in the past that Spanish star Rodrigo’s contract contains a €100M release clause within it, a price that seems a little too much for a player of his quality.

Lopetegui and Bale both want to see Rodrigo end up at the Bernabeu this summer

It’s a good thing to see Bale recognising Real’s weaknesses in attack, as stars such as Karim Benzema has been performing incredibly inconsistently for the club these past few seasons.

The Frenchman only managed to bag five goals in 32 league appearances for the Spanish giants last season as they stumbled to a lowly third-placed finish in La Liga.

It’s been quite clear for a while now that Benzema is declining, so it makes sense for Lopetegui to ask for the club to bring in Rodrigo this summer.

The Spanish international was superb with Los Che last season, as his performances helped the club secure a fourth place finish and the Champions League football that comes with it.

Only time will tell if Real end up listening to Lopetegui’s pleas and moving for Rodrigo, something that will surely be bad news for Benzema and his spot in the club’s first team.
