Real Madrid midfielder Isco has learnt that the club are eyeing up a move for Bayern Munich and Spain midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

This is according to Don Balon, who note that the Los Blancos boss Julen Lopetegui has asked the club to bolster his midfield options after Mateo Kovacic moved to Chelsea, and that the Bundesliga outfit are willing to see the player leave this summer.

The report notes that the club’s chiefs believe that they may be able to snag a deal for Thiago and bring him to the Spanish capital in the next few days.

With Kovacic now gone to Chelsea, and Toni Kroos and Luka Modric approaching the twilight years of their career, bringing in Thiago would be a great move by Real.

The Spaniard proved during his time with fierce rivals Barcelona that he is capable of cutting it against the biggest and best sides that La Liga has to offer.

Thiago’s want to get forward and general ability on the ball would see him fit in very well at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 27-year-old has been somewhat hit-and-miss during his time with German giants Bayern, as despite bagging a number of goals and assists, the midfielder has also struggled with injuries.

For now, only time will tell whether Real end up launching a move for Thiago, and whether they end up being successful in their pursuit of the player.
