Jose Mourinho reserves special praise for one Manchester United player after Leicester City victory

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reserved special praise for Andreas Pereira after his side’s win over Leicester City this evening.

The Brazilian starlet was handed a rare start for Mourinho’s side in their 2-1 win at Old Trafford on the opening day of the Premier League season.

Despite long being a highly regarded prospect at United, Pereira has found first-team football hard to come by with the Red Devils, spending the last two seasons out on loan.

Pereira wasn’t always a regular at Valencia last season either, so he’s done very well to impress Mourinho in pre-season and work his way into his plans tonight.

The Portuguese – fairly or unfairly – has built up something of a reputation for not trusting young players or giving them many chances to shine, but he was eager to single out Pereira this evening.

Speaking to Sky Sports after their coverage of the game, as quoted in the tweet below from SimplyUtd, Mourinho made the point of saying he didn’t want to end the interview without mentioning the fine form of his 22-year-old maestro in the middle of the park.
