Icardi could be just the answer, with the Argentina international showing himself to be hugely prolific in his time in Serie A, netting 107 goals in 182 appearances at the San Siro.

According to Don Balon, Bale would be happy to see Icardi come to the Bernabeu this summer in a potential €100million transfer deal, as he gives his club his approval.

The 25-year-old would surely be the upgrade on Benzema that’s needed at the club, and would allow Bale to continue to do his best as a more direct replacement for Ronaldo in the front three.

Madrid have until the end of the month to sign more new players, with Thibaut Courtois their most high-profile arrival so far this summer and more strengthening surely needed.
