Real Madrid willing to offer €70M for star that Lionel Messi wants to see Barcelona sign

Real Madrid are reportedly ready to go as high as €70M to bring PSG and France midfielder Adrien Rabiot the Spanish capital this summer.

This is according to Diario Gol, who note that Rabiot has turned down a new deal with the French giants, and that Barcelona aren’t willing to pay €50M for a player who they could sign for free next summer.

The report also states that talks between PSG and Barca have been ramped up in recent hours, and that Lionel Messi himself wants to the club to land a deal to bring in the Frenchman.

Real are willing to go up to €70M in order to snag a deal for Rabiot this summer

Despite already bringing in midfield talent such as Arturo Vidal and Arthur Melo this summer, Rabiot signing for Barca would still be a great move from the Catalans.

The Frenchman’s arrival would allow for Ernesto Valverde to rotate his starting XI more and more, thus decreasing the chance of his players being fatigued later in the season.

Rabiot would also be a good signing for Real, as the 23-year-old would be a great back-up option for Julen Lopetegui to use in the centre of the park.

With Luka Modric and Toni Kroos not getting any younger, bringing in Rabiot would see Real getting a player who’s capable of replacing either the German or the Croatian as one of the club’s starting central midfielders in due course.

Whether Rabiot ends up staying in Paris is something we’ll only be able to find out in due time, however for now, it seems like Real are more desperate than Barca to sign one of Ligue 1’s most promising midfielders.
