Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is reportedly keen on another ex-Gunner linking up with him as he prepares to take the Bordeaux manager’s job.
While the name in Henry’s sights is not exactly one of the greatest players ever to pull on the famous red and white jersey, it appears Gilles Grimandi is wanted alongside the Frenchman with the Ligue 1 club, according to RMC, as translated by the Metro.
With Patrick Vieira now in charge of Nice this season, it’s an exciting time for Arsenal fans as two of their best players ever make their first big steps into management.
Vieira had previously been head coach at New York City FC in the MLS, while Henry served as assistant manager to Roberto Martinez with the Belgian national team.
The pair will now hope to make waves in the French top flight, with many Gooners undoubtedly set to keep an eye on their progress as the pair could one day be seen as potential managers at the Emirates Stadium.
Their names were tentatively mentioned by a number of sources when Arsene Wenger left the club at the end of last season, though the more experienced Unai Emery ultimately got the job.
