Real Madrid handed chance to seal superstar transfer as special clauses come into effect this season

Real Madrid could reportedly have the chance to seal the dream transfer of Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar by January, according to surprise reports in Spain.

Despite losing Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus this summer, Real are yet to bring in a big-name replacement up front in what looks a major gamble for the new season.

However, it may be that the club are simply biding their time to land president Florentino Perez’s preferred target in Neymar.

This is the suggestion from Spanish outlet El Pais, who state that Perez is focused on signing Neymar in that position despite links with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane and Eden Hazard.

Crucially, the report suggests snapping up the Brazil international could become more realistic for Madrid when the transfer window re-opens after Christmas due to clauses that come into effect from September onwards.

Neymar to get chance to seal Real Madrid transfer this season?

It is unclear what precise clauses these are and how they’ll affect Neymar’s future at the Parc des Princes, but it seems this long-running saga could have a conclusion as early as this season.

This seems an ideal scenario for Los Blancos, with few names in world football looking as much up to the job of replacing Ronaldo as an equally marquee name like Neymar.
