Next Man Utd manager: Five potential Solskjaer replacements as Red Devils look in need of a change, including Premier League boss

Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino would surely be the dream appointment for United, even if he looks a slightly unrealistic candidate at the moment.

The Argentine has worked wonders at Spurs and surely now deserves a shot at a bigger job, with reviving United perhaps the ideal challenge for him.

Tottenham aren’t in the best run of form at the moment, so there’s every chance that if things continue that way he could actually be available sooner than expected, though that’s perhaps a big ‘if’.

Massimiliano Allegri

One of the best managers in the world and currently out of work, Massimiliano Allegri is surely worth pursuing for Man Utd as they struggle under Solskjaer.

Massimiliano Allegri is available and could be ideal for Manchester United

The Italian tactician did a great job at Juventus and at AC Milan before that, and even if some may have their doubts over his style of football, he’s at least a far more proven safe pair of hands than Solskjaer.

United may have to move quickly though, as it’s hard to imagine a big name like Allegri will be out of work for long.

Laurent Blanc

Another leading manager currently without a job, Laurent Blanc could be a tempting option for MUFC due to his connections with the club.

The Frenchman had a brief spell at Old Trafford as a player and though he’s not a club legend like Solskjaer, he is a far more proven manager.

Blanc has won Ligue 1 titles with PSG and Bordeaux, and also had a spell in charge of the French national team, which is a far more impressive CV than the current occupant of the Old Trafford hot seat.
