Arsenal to battle Liverpool and Real Madrid to sign 21-year old La Liga winger

According to the Mirror, Arsenal will try to fend off Liverpool and Real Madrid in order to sign Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.

In 136 games for the La Liga team, Williams, 21, has contributed 29 assists and 26 goals. Last year, his performance earned him a new deal at the club.

The Mirror claims that Williams has been seen by scouts from Arsenal. According to the report, Arteta is eager to add a winger to his offensive options and relieve pressure on Bukayo Saka in the summer.

Since Williams signed a new contract last year, a deal with him is probably not going to be easy, with Real Madrid, Aston Villa and Liverpool all interested in him.

Williams is an academy graduate and Athletic Bilbao are keen not to sell him.

The article further states that Pedro Neto, a standout player for Wolves, is a target for Arsenal, who have long been admirers of the Portuguese attacker.

In just 17 games, Neto has provided 10 assists and 3 goals for Gary O’Neil’s team, despite missing two months of play due to a major hamstring injury.

Possible transfers for Neto or Williams might coincide with a reorganisation of Mikel Arteta’s team, with Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe and Thomas Partey all possibly leaving this summer.

Brentford striker Ivan Toney and Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad are two players who Arsenal are rumored to be interested in adding.

Seven days after their thrilling 3-1 triumph over Liverpool, the Gunners are back in action on Sunday as they travel to face West Ham.
