Liverpool considering summer move for 25-year-old former Arsenal player

According to German publication Sport Bild, Liverpool are considering mounting a summer raid to recruit Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund.

In an attempt to replace Mohamed Salah, who has been linked to leaving the club in recent months, the Merseyside club is apparently searching the market for a new forward.

The Saudi team Al-Ittihad declared their formal interest in signing him last summer and put up a £150 million official offer. However, it’s said that Liverpool turned down the offer because they didn’t want to part with their best player.

Even though Al-Ittihad were unable to get Salah last summer, they are still hopeful about doing so and may rekindle their interest this summer.

Liverpool will need to sign a replacement to take Salah’s position if they decide to cash in on him. Pedro Neto and Michael Olise are two names that have been floated as potential contenders for the Reds.

But Liverpool are reportedly also interested in buying Malen, and they have been closely monitoring his recent performances, according to the Sport Bild report.

The story goes on to say that Dortmund would be willing to pay at least £34 million to let the Dutch attacker leave the club.

Malen has stated that playing in the Premier League is his “dream,” thus Liverpool may be able to get him if they make a serious bid.

The Dortmund attacker can play anywhere around the front line, making him a versatile forward. He is a gifted player, and if Liverpool decide to get him, it would be a wise move.
