Arsenal plotting summer move for outstanding Dutch keeper

The end of the current season is still a couple of months away, but Arsenal are already looking at acquiring a brilliant Dutch goalkeeper.

The Gunners enquired about Mary Earps from Man United according to The Telegraph (subscription required) but appear to have been told that the England international was not for sale.

That has seen the club apparently turn their attentions to Aston Villa and the Netherlands’ highly-rated custodian, Daphne van Domselaar.

Arsenal told ‘no’ by Man United after Earps enquiry

At 24 years of age, the North Londoners will be getting a player for their Women’s squad that not only could slot right in at present, but could go on to be their main goalkeeper for the next few years.

With a reported release clause of just £200,000 too, her signing isn’t likely to break the bank either.

No final decision has seemingly been made at this point by the player, with plenty of time before she needs to do so.

It would be tough on Villa if van Domselaar does decide to try her luck in the capital, given that she only signed for the Villains in June 2023 from Dutch outfit, FC Twente.

Such is the pulling power of the bigger teams in the Women’s Super League, however, that moving to Arsenal may be something she’s unable to resist.
