According to Metro, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City are expected to compete for the signing of PSV Eindhoven forward Johan Bakayoko.
In 25 Eredivisie league games this season, the attacking player has six goals and eight assists to his name.
Since joining the senior team, Bakayoko has been nothing short of extraordinary. He was voted Eredivisie Talent of the Month many times and assisted PSV in winning the KNVB Cup in the previous season.
Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain, two French teams, are also monitoring the forward.
The 20-year-old has a price tag of between €50 and €60 million. When Brentford tried to sign the youngster in January, PSV rejected their €40 million offer.
Chelsea are looking to add more depth to attack
After rising through the youth ranks and becoming an important member of PSV, Bakayoko is having a successful season. Having played in 25 league games, he has established himself as a consistent starter.
The Blues are looking to add an attacker as Raheem Sterling’s future at the club remains uncertain while Mykhalo Mudryk has been a disappointment since joining the club.
Why Chelsea should sign Bakayoko?
Bakayoko might be a wise addition because he is a young, gifted player. The fast forward from Belgium is said to have outstanding balance and the ability to play through the centre or out wide.
The winger signed a contract extension with PSV in February of last year, extending his stay there until 2026.
Bakayoko is being watched by a number of big teams across Europe, so Chelsea need to act quickly to sign him.
With Brentford making a January move for him and Chelsea looking to make a summer move now, his future is most likely in the Premier League.
