No one has ever doubted that Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon was ambitious. From his £46m million move for Zinedine Zidane, to his audacious comments about shelling out £100m for Cristiano Ronaldo, the Madrid president has always found a way to put his club at the top of the news.
Today, Calderon is at it again, only this time he believes that every player on the planet wants to come play for Real Madrid. He can’t help it if the magnetic force at the club is so powerful!
“We can’t be blamed if nearly every player wants to come to Real Madrid. If I was Manchester United I’d be happy and proud to be able to negotiate such a transfer for one of my players.” (AS)
The quote is, of course, in direct comment to the possible move for United winger Cristiano Ronaldo, but for most that’s just another boring comment; what isn’t so boring, however, is the comment that he can’t be blamed if ‘nearly every player wants to come to his club.’ What do you think?
