Hot on the heels of new arrival Samir Nasri could be this Dutch master who would neatly fill the hole set to be left by Adebayor!
Dutch goal sensation Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is the man Arsenal want to replace Emmanuel Adebayor.
With Alexander Hleb quitting the Gunners for Barcelona yesterday, boss Arsene Wenger is aiming to continue his rebuilding by landing Huntelaar from Ajax for around £18m.The Frenchman has accepted there is no way Adebayor can stay after a disruptive summer in which the striker has made it clear he wants to move to a club who can pay big money.
It now seems certain the Togo hitman will go to AC Milan, once the San Siro giants make a slight improvement to their initial offer of £24m. (Daily Star)
Huntelaar is a top quality striker just aching to prove to the world that he can score by the bucket load in a more superior league than the Eredivisie. If he ends up costing less than the Ade then Wenger would have pulled off quite a coup because the Dutch international is a far more lethal finisher than the Togolese. Do Arsenal fans think that Klaas could be the final piece of the summer window jigsaw?

Klaas is a great striker and i agree he does have the makings of a Great Gunner and would work perfectly alongside RVP, maybe we could somehow get Eduardo in there as well!

i dont know if barca and milan will be willing to risk 30mil for ade..so maybe down around 27mil…and i dont think klaas will leave for under 20mil min cuz barrys goin for 18mil and man city got jo for 19 or sum stupid money..so yea klaas around 23 mil perhaps…not such a big coup cuz that 5mil saved is equal to the adjustment time klaas will need…so kinda straight goal swap i think…

i think adebayor has really bad finishing but his link up play and workrate is better than huntelaar…Barca and Ac would probably want someone who has great physical presence upfront..

Would be great ! i heard 70 goals in 82 matches for ajax !? I think the only reason Barca and Milan aren’t going for him is because they want a big name player , and Adey is probably more “known” to the Spanish/ Italian fans. But i would love to see this guy in a arsenal shirt , great finisher , great record and im sure with the service from RVP , Fab , Nasri and the full backs he would be a hit in this league! Come on Arsenal !!

God yes! Huntalaar is perfect for us and far better than that greedy streak of piss we got at the moment! Imagine if we got Falcao aswell, what an amazing front line, premiership defenders be afraid, be VERY afraid!

All Huntelaar can do is finish. If he doesn’t score he contributes nothing to the team. He has limited strength, is fairly technical, but worst of all has no pace.

I dont think Arsene will go after him. Firstly, because he is pretty expensive by his standards. Secondly, I think Arsenal have about 4 strikers ready to prove their worth. I think Arsene is going to go for Roque Santa Cruz which would be the cheaper option. Proven in EPL, he is THE perfect replacement for Ade. He has everything plus he is a better finisher. Klaas Jan and RVP are similar I think.

few gooners will miss ade-barndoor (he cant hit a barn door) .. gooners moaned during his first two seasons at the obsecene wasting of scoring opportunities, but wneger stood by him as he often does to players being slated (eg, flamini) .. now the w**ker is asking to be paid the same as god (henry) after frittering awa chance upon chance last season .. I say good riddance to bad rubbish .. get us any of: falcao, huntelaar, or the bruiseburn chap and we are set .. cant wait to see him leave .. and I can bet top dollar that he will flop .. them guys dont have the patience of arsenal, and he will certainly not get half as many scoring chances there as he gets in arsenal .. piss off ‘barndoor !!!!!

i feel arsenal fans listen to the press to mush, wenger and the cahairman has have stated on several occasions ade is not for sale so set such i price tag because of just that they reason ,they have no intensions of leeting go, arsenal ahve never come out said that ade is for sale,remember wenger did say he hopes to keep ade is, he came out on t.v staing he has no reason to meat ade is ahs three years left on his contract and he aspects him to honour that. all the claims that ade is going has come from the press, mostly itlaian press which no dought milan own.

well if ade is sold for 35mill dat will be great.if we can rely on ade why not klass.his record is good and i definitely no his conversion rate is good .remember he is dutch.let ade go for 35mill for all i care.d money should be used to buy klass, add a litle and buy silva it wuld be great

this player is a better goalscorer than torres, but for once i hope wenger actually buys insted of saying hes interested..he did the same with torres and didnt want to pay big money and from my point of view lost out on one of the best strikers in the world!! go get him wenger!!

As an Arsenal fan, I STILL think Adebayor is underated and he can be world class given time. Wenger knows this but you can’t keep him against his will….he just wont be the same

huntelaar was made for eridivisie, his lack of pace could prove a big setback in epl. sure he scores, but he’s an out an out striker and afc thrives on team play. huntelaar team ethic is possible concern which is why big clubs have been cautious around him and he’s 24 already. as he’s 24 ajax is looking to sell no doubt about that, to get value IF we go for him he’s 13 mil tops. but i’m not sure about this player in elp, i could be wrong but martins looks the better bet, epl tested and 23 years.

Huntelaar will be a great addition to a great team. Him and RVP are used to playing football with each other seeing as their both from The Netherlands. Plus Eduardo will be a the last piece of the striker puzzle.
But i was hoping Mario Gomez (GER) would replace Adebayor but Huntelaar is a superb striker. But remember the BPL is the fastest league in the world so hopefully he can keep up with the pace.
And hopefully this is our team next season.

Much rather keep Adabayor. scored 24 league goals last season and is getting better all the time. His team play is far better. He give Arsenal another dimension.
Dont understand all the critics. The stats speak more themselves. He is an excellent striker.

ade is a top striker. he bagged 30 goals last season.. barca and milan dont both go for a flop.. corse he goin to miss chanches, the amount that arsenal create… it is inevitable. Huntelaar suits the dutch leage but the PL is so much different. Arshavin and a decent CB is all arsenal need. Our problem last season was not talent and ability. it was depth in the squad, last third of the season we looked tired and needed rest.

He’s a good player no doubt but don’t be fooled with his record at Ajax. Remember when Kuyt first arrived in England, everyone were saying what a great record he had! Now look at him. Caution needs to be applied but yes, a good player overall.
I dunno who I prefer more, Arshavin or Huntelaar. Anyone know how old Huntelaar is?

Fellow gunners, it seems we want any player linked with us, and who said there is no better player in the air like Ade, pls, let me tell something that maybe u don’t know, we have enough strikers, we have Van Persie(the best atm), Eduardo(no other clinical finisher in the world), Bentner( who imo is better than Ade) so why do u think we should buy Santa Cruz while we have Bentner, ball control, finish, overall play and the understanding for his teammates, he is young but given the chance Ade got last season, Bentner will shine. We don’t need another striker, we need Micah Richards, if Wenger will like to spend that stupid amount on Barry(good though) then buy Richards, Song will do a great job there. i would rather have david villa for an exta few million hunterlaar is gd but has onli experiance in a second rate league in holland wid defences as bad as our championship league and villa is a much more proven striker at the highest of levels

Santa Cruz in our team with all those great attacking players round him… oops! He is class, has it all and what’s more is used to our league. Meanwhile, how can anyone want Adebayor to stay now? He must go! Any player who insults us like he has must go! If we ain’t good enough for em then OUT, simple.
