Arsenal are reportedly readying a summer bid to bring in a third player from cash-strapped La Liga side Malaga in the space of a year.

The North London side have set their sights on French international midfielder Jeremy Toulalan who could well be the latest player to leave a La Rosaleda that is looking at further cost cutting measures after being banned from competing in the Champions League or Europa League next term.

Arsene Wenger is eyeing up the experienced defensive midfielder as he looks to bring in a tough tackler to help give his side some steel to complement the creative talent he has in abundance.

Wenger has been linked with interest in Toulalan for some time but will now look to make a move for the 29 year old knowing that he can probably pick up the former Lyon man for a cut-price fee.

Arsenal could certainly do with an out and out defensive midfielder, especially as the Gunners are still to replace Alex Song. Abou Diaby continues to struggle with both form and injuries and Toulalan could be an intelligent solid signing to consider.

Toulalan is a two time Ligue 1 title winner and has 36 national team caps to his name and the Nantes born midfielder would probably jump at the chance of a move to the Emirates Stadium.
