Nicklas Bendtner could be off to Russia, The Mirror reports.

The Danish striker is thought to be a summer target for Russian duo Anzhi Makhachkala and Zenit St Petersburg after falling out of favour at Arsenal.

Currently on loan at Juventus, Bendtner has made just a handful of appearances as the club continue to mount their challenge for the Scudetto, and to cap it off he was involved in a drink driving incident earlier this month whilst on holiday in Copenhagen that has seen him land a six month ban from the national team and a hefty fine.

However, that’s not been enough to dissuade the Russian duo. Both have spent heavily recently, with Zenit splashing out over £60 million on Brazilian striker Hulk and Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel. Bendtner is said to prefer a move to a club that can offer Champions League football, according to his agent, Tom Brooks. With the club’s second and third respectively a move could simply come down to who has the deeper pockets.

It’s believed that German sides Hamburg and Stuttgart are also interested, but so far there has been been no contact with either.

Bendtner has just under 18 months left on his current deal and after having spent the last two season’s away from The Emirates Stadium  the club will most likely cut their losses and let him go for a nominal fee.
