Man United to Offer Pair as Bait In Move to Sign £36m Wing Wizard

Old Trafford side to make bumper offer for Colombian youngster.

Check in to Sunderland vs Manchester United

Man United continue to scout highly rated Colombian international James Rodriguez and will apparently look to partly finance a move for the FC Porto winger by using a pair of players as makeweights to tempt the Portuguese side to sell the 21 year old.

The Daily Mail believe that Sir Alex Ferguson is willing to use Brazilian midfielder Anderson and Portugal international Nani as part of any deal to sign Rodriguez.

Such a move may well be a way of covering the cost of a player who’s release clause jumped from £24m to £36m when the talented wide-man signed his latest contract.

Ferguson is keen to bring in wide attacking options that are able to make a more effective contribution than the likes of Ashley Young and Luis Antonio Valencia, who have thus managed just three Premier League assists between them and not a single goal.

Whilst Wilfried Zaha will join the club this summer from Crystal Palace Ferguson is keen to bring in a more established option and has scouted Rodriguez for some months now.

Nani has experience of playing in the Portuguese Primera Liga and Anderson is a former FC Porto player and in theory such an offer could be tempting for the Estadio Dragao side.

Rodriguez helped FC Porto to back to back domestic titles in his first two seasons at the club and is one of the leagues top assist makers and has also racked up eight goals in 17 matches.

Anderson has previously spoken of his interest in a return to his former club, stating;

‘Porto are the one club I would consider moving back to Portugal for. My past is there. It is where I put down my roots in Portuguese football.’
