Parc des Princes side ready to mount move for Emirates Stadium boss.
French giants PSG are set to make an audacious approach to Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger according to TalkSport.
Wenger’s position at Arsenal has come under some intense scrutiny as of late as the North London club face another season without a trophy and the possibility that they may miss out on next years Champions League.
That doesn’t seem to matter to PSG’s Qatari owners who want to bring him back home and head their quest for European glory next season.
The 63-year-old, who has now been in the Arsenal job for 17 years, has just 13 months left on his current deal. Members of PSG’s backroom have apparently already sounded him out about a move back to France but he has so far not responded. Wenger has stated that he will see out the remaining time on his contract and frequently refuses to comment on speculation regarding his own future.
PSG are reported to have sounded out a number of managers to replace Carlo Ancelotti as the Italian has struggled to get his side to storm to the Ligue 1 title as many expected. He has, however, overseen a relatively successful Champions League campaign that sees them facing Barcelona in the quarter finals next month.
It’s likely that there will be no announcement from the Frenchman before the end of the season. In the past he has suggested that he would like to manage the French national side before retiring.
