Manchester City are reportedly considering the future of their Italian boss Roberto Mancini according to The Mirror.

Mancini guided the club to their first ever Premier League title last season after a last gasp victory over QPR on the last day of the season.

The manager remains popular amongst the club’s fans but City officials are reportedly considering Mancini’s future at the club.

City’s owners are unhappy with the side’s performances this year both domestically and in Europe.

The club have surrendered a fifteen point lead to city rivals Manchester United in the Premier League this season and that could be extended to eighteen should the club lose to United on Monday.

City also failed to impress in the Champions League after failing to progress beyond the group stages. They were admittedly drawn in a tough group alongside Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax but City officials believe the club should have progressed to the knock out stages after lavishing huge sums on new players over the past few seasons.

City still have a chance of winning the FA Cup but first need to navigate a difficult semi-final tie against Chelsea.

It is thought that defeat to both Manchester United and Chelsea could spell the end of Mancini’s tenure at the club.
