Check in to Manchester United vs Manchester City

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has begun the mind games with Manchester City ahead of their Premier League derby clash tonight according to The Daily Mail.

The Scottish manager expressed his belief that Jose Mourinho’s potential return to Chelsea represented United’s biggest title threat for next season.

In what was a thinly-veiled attack on Roberto Mancini and his Manchester City, Ferguson hinted that he was more concerned about a rebuilt Chelsea team under the Special One than a renewed attempt from the Etihad Stadium.

Mourinho has been widely linked with the Stamford Bridge hot seat as his time at Real Madrid looks certain to come to an end this season.

The Portuguese boss has failed to keep pace with rivals Barcelona in La Liga this season and has fallen out with a number of the club’s homegrown stars.

Chelsea are on the lookout of for a new manager to replace current interim boss Rafa Benitez. Club officials are keen to appoint Mourinho to appease the fans, who have been furious all season about the appointment of former Liverpool boss Benitez.

Chelsea may have to act soon though with French side PSG also thought to be interested in securing the manager’s signature.
