Arsenal midfielder Andrei Arshavin is reportedly ready to retire from the game according to The London Evening Standard.

The Russian international is reportedly considering whether or not to hang up his boots despite being only 31 years old.

Arshavin has just two months remaining on his current deal with Arsenal and looks set to leave the club at the end of the season.

The player arrived at the club in blistering form but has failed to reproduce those displays in recent seasons and has found himself well down in the Emirates pecking order.

Arsenal have no intention of offering Arshavin a new deal and the player is reportedly so disillusioned with the game that he is considering calling it quits.

Reports have suggested that no clubs have come in for the player despite being able to talk to him since January.

It had been suggested that MLS side LA Galaxy were willing to take him on but it now seems those reports were premature.

One potential obstacle is reported to be Arshavin’s wage demand with the player current receiving a £95,000 a week pay package.

Arshavin is keen to remain in London but is finding his options limited with no club so far willing to come forward and offer him a deal.
