Arsenal have been given a boost in their chase for Valencia’s Adil Rami according to talkSport.

The French defender have reportedly revealed that he intends to leave the Spanish side as he looks to join one of Europe’s top sides.

Mega rich Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala are reported to have made a big money move for Rami in recent weeks.

But Rami reportedly turned down their advances as he awaits offers from big European clubs.

Valencia are thought to rate Rami highly but are currently facing severe financial difficulties after EU officials informed Spanish authorities they would no longer be allowed to provide tax breaks to football clubs.

A number of the club’s high profile stars are expected to leave and the highly rated Rami is thought likely to be one of the first out of the door.

Arsenal have been admirers of Rami for some time and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen to make his move this summer.

The French boss is keen to bring in defensive reinforcements after seeing his backline commit a number of high profile errors that have cost his side valuable points in the race for a top four finish and a place in next season’s Champions League.
