Check in to FA Cup Final: Manchester City vs Wigan Athletic

Man City are reportedly keen on signing Wigan Athletic keeper Ali Al Habsi as Roberto Mancini’s current number two Costel Pantilimon is apparently set to leave the club according to the Daily Mirror.

The Etihad Stadium side are keen on the Oman international who is into his third seasons at Wigan Athletic but who has recently played second fiddle to loaned in keeper Joel Robles.

The 31 year old former Bolton man has been something of an up and down performer, capable of dropping real howlers but also able to put in Man of the Match displays.

With Joe Hart seemingly an automatic first choice any addition Mancini looks to make to his squad will strictly be as injury cover, with perhaps some cup football thrown in, this may not appeal to some but could be an option Al Habsi would be open to if Wigan Athletic fail to avoid the drop.

Pantilimon is expected to get the nod in today’s FA Cup final meeting between Man City and Wigan Athletic ahead of Hart, having played in every round leading up to the climax of the competition, putting in solid displays on the road to Wembley.
